Probably all of you have heard about Milan exhibitions – one of the largest events in the field of design. I still havn’t had the opportunity to visit it, but this year I was lucky to work with a colleague of mine who agreed to be a special correspondent for the blog and will introduce us to all the interesting things he sees there. I am talking about arch. Zamfir Hadjiyski. He is teaching Architectural Lighting in the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia, and he is also a light designer. He studied architecture at Sofia and at La Sapienza University in Rome, Italy. In 2003 he took a 5-months specialization in lighting design at the Faculty of Design of the Polytechnic of Milan (Politecnico di Milano), and later created the Italstile studio for architectural and interior design, and is a direct importer of many Italian lighting brands .

Arch. Z. Hadjiyski is currently in Milan and has already sent me interesting pictures. Today I would like to share with you photos from one of the accompanying events that he have already been able to visit. It is organized by the Interni magazine under the slogan Energy for Creativity. Organizers bring together leading designers and architects, as well as companies operating in the field of innovation and research and provide them with a place to interpret with temporary installations their own understanding about the main topic – Energy for Life. Here are some of the installations:

Punti di Vista from Piuarch – the installation consists of three parts, focusing on mirroring of classical architectural forms and building new visions. A frieze, columns and an arch are the structures in focus. They are covered with ceramics from Marazzi’s collections and create many kaleidoscopic effects.

Black Hole from Steven Blatz and Antonio Pio Saracino has the shape of a hollow circular tower whose interior recreates a silhouette of a black hole that attracts the energy around and makes people stop and look.

Vitruvius on Quarantine from Bernard Khoury – a round stone tunnel that connects the two extremes – the arrival and the departure, the Renaissance Vitruvian Man by Leonardo in one end and a contemporary video with an actor shot in a studio in Beirut.

A beautiful mirror installation that introduces the concept of perpetual motion and includes the viewer in a beautiful game of reflections. Reflective elements make the whole structure nearly invisible, reflecting the surrounding architecture and creating new images. A project created by Sergei Tchoban, Sergey Kuznetsov and Agniya Sterligova.
