This great nordic apartment initially attracted me with the beautiful contrast between the wooden chair in the living room that looks perfect for reading and the glass and metal Platner 1962 coffee table. After returning again and again to the pictures for more than a week, I found the apartment belongs to the Finnish interior designer Joanna Laajisto, and I am a fan of her ever since I came across this beautiful dark grey kitchen! The pictures are taken by her husband, Mikko Ryhanen, who is a photographer, for the swedish Residence Magazine.

Besides the soft carpet in black and white, there is also the beautiful golden PH Light lamp over the dining table by Louis Poulsen designed by Poul Henningsen that needs to mentioned too. Also by Louis Poulsen is the cute black table lamp on the bedroom window – a very recognizable design of Arne Jacobsen, next to a concrete pot. Dining chairs are by Harry Bertoia. The kitchen is decorated a bit simpler with old repainted in white Tonet chairs combined with small unpainted wooden table and open metal shelves, where the most used kitchen utensils are placed.

The building is from 1928 with thick walls and very high ceilings. The recently renovated apartment is entirely painted in white, which had made it particularly bright and pleasant, and the photographs on the walls diversify and add a personal touch to the rooms.
