The White Room

Lynda Gardener from Gardener & Marks Interior Decoration is known for her specific industrial vintage style. She recently completed the interior of a beautiful little studio in Melbourne called The White Room for all the whites in it.

The White Room

The White Room is a dream escape of every style conscious traveller in the city. The place was once a motor mechanics garage, which Lynda Gardener turned into an idyllic place to rest and spend your vacation and have a rest at plump beds with soft French linen.

One of the nicest things are the tall French windows that open to a small open courtyard, located down a cobblestone lane close to Edinburgh gardens and some of the best local restaurants.

The White Room

The room have a large bed with small vintage seats instead of night tables, a tall chest of drawers painted in gray, a small white armoire, a leather chair, that is the dream place for reading of every bookworm, a small workpalce and a kitchenette with a tall cabinet and a built-in shelf.

The walls retained the texture of the original bricks, painted in white, the cement floor of the motor garage is preserved, also painted in white, and the ceiling is paneled with wood. Many small objects and details, such as a cabinet with glass door put on the desk, give distinctive character and atmosphere which can hardly be repeated, and the whole feeling is something like a French provincial decadence in white, although I don’t think this exist at all as a term.
